Anna Gerrish Fisher |
| Anna Gerrish Fisher, a native Idahoan, graduated from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. She received a double masters degree in Piano Performance and Music Education. Her bachelors degree was completed at Utah State University in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. Ms. Fisher made her debut performance with an orchestra at age 16 and has performed numerous time since then. She has performed in New York, D.C., Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, Utah, Idaho and Washington state. She has received numerous awards from the MTNA Competitions, Utah State Fair Competition, Idaho Federation of Music Clubs, the Utah State Piano Festival and the USU Concerto Competition. She has been featured on the Washington Square concert series, the Valley Manor recital series and various others. |
| In addition to her performance experience, Anna has actively taught for the past 14 years. During her graduate work, she was nominated for the "Teaching Assistant of the Year" prize at Eastman and was awarded two teaching assistantships during her final year. Since then, she has taught at Belmont University, Middle Tennessee State University, Utah State University and is on faculty at the Sun Valley Summer Music Festival each August. She has also been a guest lecturer at George Mason University and Catholic University. Ms. Fisher is also a member of national and state music organizations such as MTNA, ECMMA and the National Federation of Music Clubs. Her teachers have included Gary Amano, Douglas Humpherys, Thomas Schumacher, Madeleine Hsu-Forte, Shulamit Hoffman, and Jo Ann Gerrish (her mother). Ms. Fisher currently resides in Northern Virginia where she is on faculty at the Levine School of Music in the Early Childhood and Elementary Music Department. She also teaches private flute and piano lessons and works as a freelance musician. |
